Entry Description

Cliftons Art Prize 2013: I take past experiences and relationships and translate them into new forms both landscape and figurative through a series of digital works. My passion for all things hand-made is reflected in the tapestries and textiles collaged into the work. The figures are taken from an old black and white photograph of my mother and grandfather in 1950’s NZ and relocated to New South Head Rd Double Bay in 2012. Colour and texture are added before a final layer of drawing completes the art work .

Cliftons Art Prize is an annual competition that helps raise the profiles of local emerging artists and encourages corporate patronage of the arts.

Cliftons Art Prize offers international exposure for local artists across the Asia Pacific. It is open to emerging and established artists in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
